If you only need to store a few drinks, a model with a lower volume, such as a 42-litre mini bar fridge, may be sufficient but if you need a lot of cold storage space, look for an appliance with a higher volume, such as a 190-litre bar fridge.

2. Doors

When looking at the doors of a potential new fridge, you need to note which direction it opens, especially if you intend to place the bar fridge in a harder-to-access area. With both right-hinged and left-hinged models available, you can find a fridge to suit your home and purpose. Some fridge brands feature even reversible doors which can be adjusted using additional rehinging kits.

While many bar fridge doors are opaque, some feature see-through glass which allows you to see what food and drink you have chilled, before opening the door. Some glass door bar fridges feature heated fronts which prevent the build-up of condensation.

While on the topic of doors, a bar fridge can come in single door and double door fridge variants, with the top mount fridge compartment offering freezer space. 

3. Interior Lighting

Bathing your food and drink in high-quality LED lighting can not only bolster the appeal of your bar fridge’s interior, but it also helps you to see what you have stored. Interior lighting is a convenient feature for your fridge, especially in low-light conditions.

4. Adjustable Shelving

Shelving differs between types of bar fridge and brand, with durable tempered glass being one of the more common shelf types. But some fridges feature metal bottle racks for simple bottle storage and wire racks for optimal air flow throughout the fridge.
